Showing the initial damage caused by capacitor leakage and steps to repair damaged PCB copper tracks / traces.
initial removal of leaked capacitors and cleaning of PCB, followed by fibreglass cleaning / damaged mask removal.
Many open circuit tracks / traces.
Re-linking with laying solid core wire with long lead in and out to strenghten and reconnect tracks / traces,
neater than long jumper wires and keeps tracks same lenght as originals.
New loops made to replace missing track / trace around capacitor legs and tiny through hole plates / via's recovered
to relink 5v power rail to the 2 upper ICs.
UV curing green PCB mask applied to ensure copper is not exposed to moisture which forms from cold damp days which
will slowly corrode if left.
All Electrolytic capacitors replaced with top quality Panasonic, Nichicon, Rubycon brands at correct values.
Clear acrylic protective lacquer conformal coating applied as final step to add another layer of moisture protection.
Then plugged into one of my live road going MR2 and driven around to fully road test and verify 100% repair.
